Today marks the 10th year that I am cancer free from the day that my right kidney was removed for renal cell carcinoma a.k.a. kidney cancer. I still remember how lucky I was to have inadvertently discovered kidney cancer by accident.
I thought I had a recurrence of my non-viral liver hepatitis or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and my family doctor ordered a full CAT scan to check on my gall bladder and liver. It turned out that I had Stage I cancer which was confirmed during the surgery.
